Fields of application
Due to its chemical properties, cobalt is an important alloying metal for corrosion- and heat-resistant carbides in turbines and engines, in chemical plants and for diamond tools. Cobalt can also be used as a component of magnetic alloys combined with samarium or aluminum and nickel. Moreover, the metal is needed to produce lithium-ion high-performance electricity storage devices.
