TRADIUM on Focus Online

On 11 January 2026, Focus Online published an article on the limits of recycling rare earths. The starting point is the question of why the recycling of these metals has so far hardly contributed to relieving the strained supply. TRADIUM raw materials expert Jan Giese explains that many rare earths are used in long-lasting products and will not be available on the market for the foreseeable future. At the same time, the article clearly shows how much competition there is for available scrap quantities. The article shows why recycling is important in the medium term, but can only help to a limited extent in the short term.
