Selenium

Selenium, a semi-metal belonging to the chalcogenes, is mainly obtained as a by-product in the electrolytic refining of copper. Fertilisers, the glass industry, catalysts and solar systems are some of its many areas of application.
Selenium powder as 100 and 200 mesh
Selenium pellets in 1-5 mm
Selenium granulate - various grain sizes on request
In the purities 99.5 %, 99.9 % and 99.99 %

Steel / Metallurgy

In agriculture, selenium is used as a fertiliser additive to improve the tolerance of plants to environmental pollution. The glass industry uses it to decolour waste glass, and in the cosmetics industry it is a sought-after raw material for anti-dandruff shampoos. The use of selenium makes it easier to process copper, lead and steel alloys, and in the electrolytic production of manganese metal, selenium increases the yield. Pigments, batteries, catalysts, electronics and thin-film solar cells round off the broad portfolio of applications.
