TRADIUM joins the Global Rare Earth Industry Association

The German supplier of raw materials is a new member of the global industry association that’s committed to creating a safe and innovative rare-earth industry.

Frankfurt, March 8, 2023 – TRADIUM GmbH, a leading global supplier of raw materials, joined the Rare Earth Industry Association (REIA) on March 1, 2023. The organization is committed to bringing together expertise from industry, politics, and science to create the conditions for an innovative rare earth industry of the future. Currently, the network consists of 70 plus partners from countries such as the UK, Germany, and France, but also China, Japan, the USA, and Canada.

TRADIUM, located in Germany, specializes in supplying industry with strategic raw materials such as rare earths, technology metals, and precious metals. For more than 20 years, it has been supplying metals to companies in a wide range of industries including the glass industry, the ceramics industry, the automotive industry, as well as the electronics and lighting industries. Thus, TRADIUM has excellent knowledge of the market.

“It is an important step for us to become a member of the renowned REIA,” says Matthias Rüth, CEO of TRADIUM. “It is currently a major challenge to provide the industry with a secure supply of strategic raw materials such as rare earths, which are crucial for the manufacture of renewable and low-CO2 technologies. Through our membership, we hope to contribute to better networking and information-sharing among all supply-chain stakeholders. We also want to contribute to a deeper understanding of the rare earths value chain.”

Dr Badrinath Veluri, President of REIA quotes that “addition of Tradium as a REIA member who has vast knowledge of the market and its dynamics within specialty metals for decades brings new energy and valuable source information for both upstream and downstream members of REIA as well as our external stakeholders”.

ifferent companies – raw material producers, refiners, processing companies, and recycling companies – interact in the rare earth industry. REIA connects all participating companies in a strong network and also provides them with access to new knowledge from research and development. This is the key to stability and innovation across the supply chain.

About REIA

REIA, a non-profit organization, is the only global association advocating the rare earth element (REE) Industry. Founded in 2019 and developing rapidly, REIA now counts around 50 members from around the world, representing key industry stakeholders throughout the whole rare earth value chain as well as policy makers, research institutes and academics.
Our core mission is to promote and support a sustainable, responsible, collaborative and transparent REE value chain and the use of rare earths in appropriate applications. To that effect, we are currently developing a framework and guidelines to help standardize ESG reporting accepted by all stakeholders, both upstream and downstream.
We provide our members with a platform where they can network and benchmark; make their voice heard by policy makers, regulators and key stakeholders; find potential partners; access and share data, information and best practices; get visibility and highlight their engagement towards a more sustainable supply chain.
