Hafnium is mainly used for the production of so-called superalloys in combination with NiobiumTantalumMolybdenum and tungsten are used. These particularly stable, refractory and heat-resistant materials are used in the aerospace industry and in the manufacture of gas turbines. The technology metal is also used in semiconductor technology (computer chips) and in high-frequency technology. In nuclear technology, hafnium is used in the control rods of reactors.
